We had the incredible pleasure of spending a week with Oscar on a tour that took us through the Brazilian Pantanal and the Paraguayan Atlantic Forest in the Mbaracayú Reserve. This adventure was part of our 10th-anniversary trip exploring the Southern Cone of South America, and it exceeded all our expectations.

We love exploring the outdoors, though we’d describe ourselves as more casual nature enthusiasts compared to some of Oscar’s dedicated birding clients. However, Oscar’s ability to adapt to his audience was exceptional. He quickly “read the room” and tailored the experience to fit our style, making it an unforgettable adventure.

The wildlife sightings were absolutely spectacular. From jaguars and ocelots to rheas, hyacinth macaws, and spot-billed toucanets, we were in awe of the diversity and beauty of the creatures we encountered.

Oscar’s knowledge and passion for the local cultures and environments truly enhanced our experience. Every dinner conversation was a fascinating deep dive into the history, ecology, and stories of the regions we explored. He brought the landscapes and wildlife to life, making our journey even more meaningful.

While we may not have been able to fully appreciate Oscar’s extensive birding expertise, it was clear that he is an absolute treasure for dedicated birders. If birding is your passion, we can’t imagine a better guide. For nature lovers like us, Oscar’s guidance, enthusiasm, and care made this trip an unparalleled experience. With him, we saw far more species than we ever could have on our own, and every moment of the journey felt both exciting and effortless.
